Renewables Group Case Studies

Over the last nine years, the Gardline Renewables Group companies have successfully completed over 130 contracts for the offshore renewable energy sector.

Gardline Group companies have been contracted to work on almost every offshore wind project in the UK. Below are some examples of contracts delivered by the group.

2009 - Thanet Offshore Wind Farm

The Marine Wildlife Department at Gardline Environmental has been contracted by Vattenfall to ensure disturbance to marine mammals are kept to a minimum during the construction of Thanet Offshore Wind Farm.  Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs) and Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) are used to ensure that the 500m exclusion zone around foundations are free from marine mammals during piling operations.  Marine mammal mitigation operations are conducted from one of Gardline's own dedicated, purpose built catamarans the Waterfall, which is on long term hire for this mitigation and ongoing vessel support.

The contract was negotiated by Noble Denton Consultants who are providing project management services to Vattenfall assisted by Royal Haskoning who are the project’s environmental consultancy.
