OCEANOGRAPHIC SERVICES

GEL’s Oceanography Department was established in 1984 to expand its varied offshore activities. An experienced team of marine scientists collect data on currents, tides, waves and meteorology using a constantly upgraded instrument pool.
Projects range from large, multidisciplinary surveys in the offshore environment to site specific local studies in coastal and estuarine areas. While recording instruments are often deployed for a month to a year, profiles of the water column or seabed samples can be taken during deployment and servicing visits.
GEL’s world-wide experience in metocean and environmental surveys, ranging from coastal landfalls and rivers to the deep ocean, has provided invaluable knowledge of the best scientific and technical methods for all situations.
